What is it?
For me I have three major types of attatchments to characters. IRL, OCD, and F/O. Here's what they look like for me.
IRL
An IRL is a form of delusional attatchment where I identify and perceive myself as a character. These attatchments come with a variety of things such as: phantom pains, memories, phantom limbs, seperation, feelings. They cannot be controlled. This form of attatchment is used to cope with stressors. These already have a section for boundaries.
OCD
This is one of the most important ones to be cautious of. OCD attatchments come off as an obsession with a character. This obsession can cause me harm depending on circumstance. Things such as seeing others say "I'm _____ biggest fan" or anything along those lines are things that can and will send me into a spiral. This is not a delusion, this is a disorder.
F/O
F/O or fictional others are characters I view as my partners. Because of that I can act very defensive about them. I find a lot of comfort in these characters and deal with a lot of seperation from them. As a result I have a tendency to treat them with a lot of love depending on what mindset I'm currently in. This could very well look like obsession, but this is entirely different. These are tied with my IRL attatchments.
